Products manufactured: Cosmetics, Herbal personal care products, Ayurvedic syrups, Homeopathic tablets and dilutions of various potencies. Team size: My team consists of sixty-five people — two junior chemists, three supervisors and sixty workers. I know every one of them personally and try to keep them motivated. Ensuring production volume: SBL had a number of phases in my time when volume requirement spiked due to market needs. In those times I have often worked in double shifts to shoulder the responsibilities. During COVID restrictions, especially when we had to operate with 50% staff, I have often worked as manufacturing operator to ensure volume. Product development: I actively participated in product development of hand sanitiser, beauty cream, mouth wash and an Ayurvedic syrup for digestion. Implementation of quality assurance protocols: • Jishu-Hozen: I have implemented a process of keeping a toolbox on the shop floor to attend trivial problems of the machine. • Kaizen: I have utilised an idle machine to double the output and provided various training to the operators. • 5S: I have increased production agility, improved safety and increased efficiency by implementing 5S. • Poka-Yoke: I have installed a sensor in our mixing vessel, which cuts the power of the vessel on opening of the lid. • APQR: I started the practice of Annual Product Quality Review for some of my products. Experience of training the team: • I conducted a few internal training sessions on cleaning and hygiene which emphasis on how personal hygiene affects the safety of production and the entry and exit procedure in a cleanroom. • I conducted a few internal trainings for workers, operators, and supervisors working under me on GMP. The purpose of these trainings were to familiaries with GMP per se and it's pros and cons. • I conducted a special training for supervisors and junior chemists of my team on Good Documentation Practice (GDP).
