Darwin Group Ltd is a modular build construction company that specialises in supplying Schools and Healthcare with fast-track modern design solutions. I started there as a Design Technician, was promoted to Senior Concept Design Technician and then moved to Senior Design Technician. Duties as a Senior Concept Design Technician: • Working in the Pre-Construction department of the company producing proposals for prospective work. • Obtaining a design brief from the client and producing designs to suit. This would include Location Plan, Site Plan, General Arrangements, Elevations, Take-off Schedules and 3D Visuals. • Assuring proposals meet with Planning requirements, Fire requirements and in the case of Healthcare very specific HBN & HTM requirements. • Working independently to produce given designs often to very tight deadlines. • Projects including Hospital Wards, Theatre Units, Diagnostic facilities, Dialysis Unit, Outpatients facilities, Staff Accommodation, Training Units, New Schools, Additions to Schools and Sports Halls ranging from 300m² to 5000m². Undertook extensive contract work from several different Architectural practices producing Submission and Contract documentation for various types of projects including Luxury homes, Speculative homes, Retirement Centre, Single Storey Shopping Centre and Multi-storey Doctor’s Consulting Rooms. I worked alongside a Project Partner as the Project Architectural Technician. It was my responsibility to prepare or oversee the preparation of all Technical and Drawing documentation relating to the Project. I would be given Sketch plans and from these produce Submission Drawings, resolve all design details and prepare full Working Drawings required for the construction of the Project. All Drawings would be prepared by myself or by another Technologist under my supervision. Furthermore I was responsible for checking, co-ordinating and approving all drawings prepared by the Professional Team, Sub-contractors or any other consultants involved in the Project. I would be responsible for issuing all drawings to the Main Contractor and other relevant parties, ensuring that the Main Contractor received all his information timeously. I would be involved in all Site Meetings and also work closely with the Main Contractor, resolving any problems or queries that arose on Site. Show less

The primary business of Moross Architects was Commercial Office buildings. I worked on countless projects ranging from small Office buildings (500m²), Office parks made up of several buildings of different sizes to larger Office developments with buildings of 2000m². Duties: • Initially, I worked on many different Projects and was involved in doing all types of drawings as and when assistance was required, under the supervision of Architects and Senior Technicians. • Later on I began to work on specific Projects as an assistant to the Project Architect.
