Bio
John Durkin
Sue worked as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within my commercial team seconded at Network Rail’s offices from April 2010 to December 2011 and reporting directly to myself during this period. She was responsible for the preparation of all tender documentation, compliance with EU legislation, commercial evaluation of tenders, negotiations and subsequent award of two complex railway infrastructure target cost contracts, valued at £49m and £53m respectively. Working within extremely tight delivery timescales, Sue worked extremely hard putting in long hours, requiring minimal supervision, diligently and in a professional manner in order to achieve all milestone dates, thereby gaining a high level of respect from both the client and all project team members. Her dedication, attention to detail, competence, ambition and drive together with the contract law knowledge she was gaining from her course at King’s College were without doubt a huge contributory factor to the success of both of these projects. With her excellent communication skills, being well organised and efficient, she developed an exceptional rapport with clients, stakeholders, fellow professionals and the like and such attributes will no doubt stand her in good stead throughout her working career.
