  first grade assistant at Crofton Meadows Elementary School; I started a home visitor program for the 20 lowest achieving kindergarteners at Annapolis Elementary School. This included preparing bags of educational games/activities in 5 areas (language, math, large and small motor enhancing, and active listening). I would visit the parents of each child on a bimonthly basis in their homes and instruct them in using the materials. At the end of the second visit, I conducted an evaluation of the skills learned and prepared the next bag accordingly. I also instituted read aloud programs at the Newtown Rec Center and at the Naval station family center for any interested families. Show less
