Ashley Carson 🏳️🌈
I had the privilege of working on the executive team with Sue as Vera's Chief Clinical Operations Officer. Sue is the type of operator any healthcare company would be lucky to have. First off, Sue loves her people. She supports them. She cares for them. She allows them space to be their truest and authentic selves. Second, she is a Nurse Practitioner by trade and has practiced as an NP, so she truly understands what her providers and care delivery teams go through on a day-to-day, making her one of the most empathetic leaders I've worked with. Last, Sue is gritty, she likes to get stuff done, she is authentic, she is such a caring peer, and she likes to "work really hard, and celebrate with her peers."

A great leader drives results while inspiring their teams to innovate and grow. Sue Ferbet embodies this, being a great leader of people and a transformative force in clinical operations. As a people leader, I have experienced few who are as skilled as Sue is with meaningfully and genuinely connecting with staff. Having reported to her directly, I knew I could trust her to remove barriers, be a sounding board for new ideas, and give expert guidance in tricky situations. I am a better leader and a better person because I was able to work under Sue. As a transformational clinical operations leader, she is a big-picture leader who also knows how to make the individual pieces 'in the weeds' work together to make something greater than it was before. At Vera, the quality of clinical operations can be defined as 'before Sue' and 'after Sue.' Having a spirit of continuous improvement, Sue was relentless on implementing and perfecting processes while bringing employees alongside her; she is truly hard on processes rather than people, which is why she commanded the trust and respect of her teams while accomplishing incredible improvements and implementations. I cannot recommend Sue highly enough, and any company is truly fortunate to have this caliber of person on their team.
