  I spent a year working for a broker which I did not really enjoy at the time but , in hindsight , probably proved to be a good grounding .It does help to have been the other side of the fence and makes you more aware of the problems brokers face .It's very easy to say no and put down the phone but a broker then has to explain your decision to his client
