All the interns were taken for field visits for 18 out of the 21 days of internship. We visited Old Age homes, Tihar jail, Child Welfare Committee, Children Home, Juvenile Justice Board, etc. This enabled us to interact with the various socially and economically disadvantaged groups in the society, and understand how legal aid can help them. The internship began with a voluntary pilot operation to rescue child laborers and beggars from the streets. Later, I was affiliated with the POCSO department where I prepared case notes of the open and shut cases. Post this, I was affiliated with the Health department. Therein I was required to research about health issues in various parts of the country and prepare research papers so that the organization could carry forward work along those directions. I interned under Ms. Manmeet Arora. Under her, I studied open cases and researched so as to build-up on the cases. Further, I had to find the relevant provisions corresponding to the cases and the precedence. I also accompanied the Advocates to the High Court and the Associates to the District Courts for hearings. I attended clients meetings and sat with the team while discussing the strategy. I also accompanied my Advocate for Arbitration and Mediation matters. I interned under Ms. Manmeet Arora. Under her, I studied open cases and researched so as to build-up on the cases.
