Programmers are esoteric animals. In the core banking software world, i had this experience for years of this need to be available all 24 hours as online banking became more and more prevalent. And to get core banking software professional's time and attention is difficult and irritating. Even if you get their attention, you would get interrupted quite often as their profession demanded interruptions. Subbu grew up in that environment in HR. I never envied his job but had and have tremendous respect for his ability to conceive ideas, get these software folks irrespective of their experience interested in participating in his endeavours to make professional life livelier and more informative. Whether it was conducting exercises like Battle of Brains or coffee pe charcha, he has built endearing relationships with everyone in the software group. Whether it is assisting them in medical insurance, taking up their causes on transport, on increments or coaching budding managers on how to treat their team members he has been the fulcrum. His passion to build a culture which promotes openness, respect for everyone, inquisitiveness has been relentless. He has demonstrated repeatedly that the HR function can have no boundaries. I

There are few people who treat their role as am Opportunity for creating a difference. I certainly found that being practiced by Subbu. Though associated for a brief period with my Line of Business, he played a critical role being the HR Business Partner and performed the function with great deal of enthusiasm. Subbu is an asset to any function as he has the ability to quickly adapt, absorb and accordingly execute actions that are always progressive. My best wishes to him always.
