Stuart Robertson is co-founder, creative director and owner of Big Science Film, which opened its doors in 2000 and remains one of the longest-running motion picture creative advertising agencies in the business. He is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Robertson’s vision for his agency has always been to create compelling campaigns for his clients, with an eye specifically toward emerging filmmakers, and those telling diverse, underrepresented stories. Over the past 25 years, he has collaborated with many of our industry’s most talented marketing executives to produce meaningful and effective motion picture advertising.Clients span both studio and independent distributors, including Amazon Studios, Focus Features, Roadside Attractions, Magnolia Pictures, Participant Media, Bleecker Street Media, IFC Films, Fox Searchlight, Lions Gate Films, HBO Films, Neon, Warner Independent Pictures, Warner Brothers, Universal Pictures, Miramax Films, Picturehouse, Annapurna, Strand Releasing, Samuel Goldwyn Films, Good Machine and United Artists, among others.Throughout his career, Robertson has worked on numerous Oscar contenders that span the categories of Best Picture, Best Documentary and Best Foreign Language Film. Highlights include nominees for Best Picture (Joe Wright’s ATONEMENT, Gus Van Sant’s MILK and Todd Field’s IN THE BEDROOM), Best Documentary (Sebastian Junger and Tim Hetherington’s RESTREPO) and THE STORY OF THE WEEPING CAMEL, and Best Foreign Language Film (Luca Guadagnino’s I AM LOVE, Paweł Pawlikowski’s COLD WAR and Rithy Panh’s THE MISSING PICTURE).He has also been honored for his work numerous times, including 8 Golden Trailer Awards and more than 30 nominations.
