They will ensure packages of support are delivered based upon the assessment, support needs and Employ Me plans set. They will be responsible for ensuring that individuals develop the skills to be able to enter paid employment within timescales and targets set by Mencap and the specific contract. Working with individuals with a learning disability the Caseworker – Employ Me will play a key role in increasing the number of people with a learning disability into paid employment by establishing strong relationships with employers at a local level. Working in line with the strategy of the Employer Relationship Manager they will be responsible for promoting equality of opportunity and inspiring change within employers. They will be responsible for finding employment opportunities by carrying out effective Employer Engagement activity and managing the progression and support of a caseload of individuals prior to entering, as well as within the workplace. The Caseworker will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate in-work support is provided for people gaining work skills in a real work setting and for people who have gained paid work and require in-work support to sustain their employment. Where applicable in-work support will be provided by a Job Coach funded through the Access to Work application and claims process completed by the Caseworker with the support of Employ Me Programme Coordinator. The Caseworker will ensure that this is carried out in line with Mencap standards, contract and timescale requirements. The Caseworker will ensure the Job Coach delivers the appropriate support, individual and employer targets are met as set out in the Employ Me plan and ILP.
