Stuart is a passionate, driven and solution focussed design leader. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Stuart and bening his line manager for four years, during which I’ve seen him go from strength to strength and produce fantastic outcomes for his clients. I’d like to highligh three qualities that make Stuart such a strong asset to any design team: • Leadership: Stuart takes his responsibilities seriously, always taking ownership, ensuring there is a vision for where to go, and making sure the team have the support and guiddance they need to get there. This has been evident across the accounts he has nurtured and developed, the large scale and long running projects he has been responsible for and internal initiatives that he has driven. Stuart was the Lead UX consultant on our biggest and at times most challenging client account and the client loved him. • Proactivity: Stuart is solution and outcome driven and makes things happen. I’ve seen this in on internal initatives where it’s easy for day to day project work to sap momentum. Stuart is always the one that turns up, has done the actions, helps the group to set clear goals, holds others accountable and plans the next steps. I always had huge confidence that faced with complex organisationl challenges, Stuart would unpick them and find a way forward. This carried through to the way that Stuart has developed and mentored his colleagues: That he has consistently been sought out as a line manager by members of the design team is a testament to confidence they have in him. • Confidence: This quality makes Stuart an excellent decision maker. He’s a skilled user researcher, and takes a design thinking approach to tackling challenges - but once the options have been identified and a decision made, Stuart is able to see it through and commit. He is also not afriad to call on others for support and help when he needs it, or to stand up to difficult stakeholders. This ensures he is an impactful manager and product designer, one that others look to. I’d love to work with Stuart again, and would recommend hiring him to anyone that wants a positive design leader in their team.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Stu for a number of years at Webcredible and Inviqa in an agency and consultancy capacity. Through that time I’ve seen him grow as a designer, consultant, and leader of whom I’m very proud of. Stu is very dedicated to his craft and work, always pushing to make sure solutions and outcomes are the best they can be. He’s not afraid of hard work, and he motivates the team he works with to strive for top quality. As a leader and a consultant he is very personable, he takes his stakeholders along a journey with him, and works with them to come to positive solutions taking their needs into consideration. In addition to being attentive to business needs, Stu is a champion of true User Centred Design (UCD) and always ensures user needs remain at the heart of the product or service he is designing. To top everything off, Stu is incredibly dedicated to his team. I’ve seen him develop his coaching and mentoring capacity over the years; he invests a lot of time ensuring the rest of the team grow and blossom into brilliant designers themselves. We’ve shared some amazing projects working together, and I hope we’ll have the chance to work together again in the future.

Completed a 4 month stint as a web design intern at luxury cycling brand, Rapha. During my stay I was involved in the general upkeep of rapha.cc, managing content and visual assets, designing and sending a variety of email campaigns and newsletters while also attending weekly comms meetings and creative reviews. Additionally I produced a comprehensive site template and homepage concept which made its way into the companies weekly creative review and was well received.
