Chris Muller
Stu was a strong contributor to making the Swim Club at the American International School of Lusaka the top club in the country, with its swimmers not only reaching personal and league success, but many of them representing the country at national and international events. He also taught swimming to all primary age groups during regular school, coping admirably with a full class of students at varying ability levels. In addition to this, he coached and mentored students in the sports of rugby, cricket and soccer. He was always willing to help out with our Saturday Soccer League, where students from across the city, and from all walks of life, get together on Saturdays to enjoy the sport. Stu has the qualities of a fine educator and showed real expertise in the field. He had a firm, yet respectful manner with the children, and they responded to his coaching with willingness and enthusiasm. Much of his success came from a kind and gentle manner that inspired children to listen and respond. He has a high degree of emotional intelligence that allows him to relate and interact with people and issues at all levels. This includes dealing with school parents who can at times be extremely demanding. I have no doubt that Stu's immense talents and his caring personality will lead him to a bright future. He carries my highest recommendations.
