Stojana is so passionate about learning that you can’t help but get excited. When talking to her about libraries, reading, research and engaging students hearts souls and minds, I always learned something new. I had the pleasure of working with her in Beijing and know that since then, her journey has become even more interesting and powerful. A great educator, a great learning leader, a great librarian and just a great person to have on your team. 👍🏽

I worked with Stojana for three years during her time at Beijing International Bilingual Academy. During that time she took our library from a collection of books to an easy to use, accessible, and important resource for our school. She re-organized our library and check out system making it much more friendly for students to find and check out titles and trained staff and students on how to use the library. She then worked with teachers, students and administration to increase the number of books related to our curriculum, the interest of the students, and supported the specific challenges of working with a student body in the process of learning English. She then supported the creation of class libraries throughout the school. In addition to rebuilding our library Stojana delivered a library curriculum to all of the students of the school. She worked with students ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. She was able to work with this wide range of students to teach them the skills they needed in order to use the library and conduct research. In the process of doing her work Stojana had to work with all parts of the school, including teachers, students, parents, educational and resources administration. Coordinating with that many different parts of the school requires dedication and determination in order to accomplish her goals, which she excelled at. I would readily recommend Stojana as a librarian to any school. She was an excellent colleague and will work wonders in your library.

Elementary School Librarian

Aug 2014 - Jul 2017
My primary role at BIBA (Beijing International Bilingual Academy) is Elementary School librarian.I am a strong advocate of the importance of the library in the learning and teaching process at my school. Therefore I closely collaborate with teachers in order to support transdisciplinary learning. I teach information and digital literacy skills as an integrated part of the curriculum units. In order to promote reading I organize book fairs and book clubs throughout the year as well as events such as author visits and story tellers reading month activities etc.I develop and manage the library collection which is in alignment with the curriculum and the needs of the learners in the school community. Furthermore, I select, evaluate and maintain a range of online resources: databases, magazines, learning tools all again meeting the needs of the learners. I value networking with other librarians and libraries and that is why I actively participate in online forums, attend meetings where lots of great ideas, news and experiences are shared and learned. I have been assigned to the role Head Librarian in addition to my primary role and oversee the libraries on our campus. I organize PD for teaching staff and workshops for parents. That is a great way to promote the library, the importance of information and digital literacy skills as part of the 21st century learner's profile, the love of reading and at the same time build positive relationships with parents and teachers.
