From 1 February 2014, transfers and direct debits have to meet the new European legislation and the standards of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). The idea is that citizens, companies and other economic actors can make and receive euro payments, within Europe, within or outside national boundaries under the same conditions and with the same rights and obligations, regardless of where they are located. Consumers, governments, traders and companies can make their payments throughout Europe easily carry thanks to the use of identical payment: cards, credit transfers and direct debits. It doesn't matter in which country you live, there is no distinction: all payments are "internal payments" within Europe. Our task was to update the current applications within Insurances (STPLeven and casualty) to this new form direct debits Show less

Building a portal web application that allows customers to buy a new Thomas Cook product, called Travelbox. Users have to be able to browse through the different travelboxes, see the details, order and pay online, as well as exchange their travelboxes to book a holiday. The same thing has to happen for GiftVouchers, another Thomas Cook product, which work in a slightly different manner. Travelboxes can be exchanged for 1 specific arrangement the customer can choose, GiftVouchers can be exchanged for one or more arrangements as well as one or more travelboxes, or a combination of those. Travelboxes can be used only once, GiftVouchers can be used as long as there is money left on them. All the data has to be managed in several Data Management systems. One of them being STEP (by STIBO), another is OpenErp, set up and managed by ourselves. OpenErp will also provide stock management. Last but not least, there has to be a link with Finance (SAP). This will be done with textfiles, through an FTP server. All data has to be gather from the different systems and brought together in 1 consistent ‘posting’ to SAP. Show less

I started by writing the new course. I based the course on an elaborated example/tutorial and exercises. When the course material was created, I teached the course to a small group of people. The course consisted of the basics of ADF and JDeveloper 11g. After the theoretical part of the course I was also responsible for the follow up of the participants during a practical test they had to make. I started by writing the new course.
