I used my experience as an arts entrepreneur to launch my own startup company, Mod3D LLC. I was even able to qualify for grants and funding during my time as a student. I entered several competitions and pitch contests to turn my dream into a reality. Mod3D was about bringing the magic of 3D printing to people who otherwise wouldn't have access to this technology. I attended several comic con events throughout the year as a vendor. At these events I would bring a 3D scanning system and offer to 3D scan event attendees, especially those dressed up in costumes. They could then purchase a 3D printed replica of themselves in their costume! At every event, I would bring a 3D printer to have out and running so people could see and learn about 3D printers worked. Often times I would also give a short panel or discussion about how people could begin to learn 3D printing/modeling software to help enhance their costumes or projects. Show less
