Working at INTERGRAIN within the Cabot's Woodcare Vic/Tas team , with over 20 years of previous woodcare knowledge and experience I was responsible for developing New and Existing Business opportunities and forming strong relationships with our trade and industrial customers within the woodcare protection & wood surface coatings industry. My main purpose was to maintain and grow a portfolio of existing customers , engaging in solution providing , advising and influencing multiple stakeholders covering predominantly in :- Key builders / developers , Architects , Commercial builders , Deck builders / Restorers and applicators , Timber Fencing / Window and Door Manufacturers, Interior Timber flooring distributors / Sanders-Polishers , Timber merchants / Processors / Wholesalers and pre-Oiling applicators of wood coatings throughout the technical / sales process . We also had access to the Aust & NZ distributorship rights for the supply of the popular Danish manufactured technology in the - "CEETEC" brand Automatic Pre-Oiling and Paint coating machines which enables timber processors to not only coat and supply Pre-oiled & Painted timber surfaces to the industry at very high volumes quickly , but by doing so , most importantly in showing our customers how they could actually increase their overall sales profit margins by approx 60-70% . Ultimately , I was focusing on building professional and positive customer sentric relationships, providing onsite technical advice and assistance to valid solutions within the total Intergrain umbrella range , gaining increased revenue and market share and analysing the KPI's in each business sector , influencing buying habits and predominantly promoting the use of the Intergrain Trade and Industrial alternative product lines such as:- Enviro-pro & Toby Floor Coatings , Teknos Water Based range from Denmark and the reknown Feast Watson branded products and coating systems throughout the Victoria and Tasmanian regions. After a 10 year break away from the surface coatings industry I came back into the coatings industry and joined Euro Wood Coatings who are the exclusive Australian and New Zealand distributors of the RENNER WOOD COATING systems from Italy who are world renowned and well known in the wood coatings field in over 16 countries. My position and overall task in this role was to not only to organically grow the Renner Wood Coatings brand within its introduction period in this country, but , to also align and bring the Euro Wood Coatings & Renner brand vertical with its 8000+ formulas to a total new level of trust , choice & recognition. Where quality awareness, reliability, service & innovation is a must these days , giving an absolution of solid choices and correct solutions to our customers within the industry will determine our long term success . I also believe that, with the right product mix , our people in the business supporting the growth, our aspirations and ROI in the future can be well achieved. As the NBDM , I am always looking to maximise all available partnership opportunities Australia wide and to proactively create new and existing market opportunities and achieve set sales revenue targets. I joined Abrasiflex and was given responsibility for managing company operations in Victoria. I grew the coated and bonded abrasives brand in Victoria, focusing predominantly on new business opportunities and existing business in metropolitan areas. I later led efforts to expand the company's abrasive products and services through offerings into country and regional areas (for the first time), and introduced the Abrasiflex brand into the "untapped" Tasmanian market (also for the first time at that stage). I was then given responsibility for managing the business in that state in an ongoing basis & cycle. Then in 2014 we acquired the distribution rights in Australia & NZ for the PanBlast abrasives business which diversified our business arm & model to include Blasting equipment , parts & media range. Whilst in the role I have managed a diverse network of distributors and have worked with commercial OEM partners and key supplier channel partners such as 3M Industrial TPT & OH & S divisions , Deerfos Abrasives, Bibielle Abrasives, Pferd Abrasives, Hermes Abrasives, Josco, SIA Abrasives, Pro-Safe /Paramount Safety PPS, Elliott Australia Safety PPS , Deb/Stoko Skincare Products , Dynabrade, Festool and Fein tools, Devilbiss & Binks Fluid driving equipment.. to name a few and to drive strong sales support and business development results in very competitive markets. Despite periods of significant challenge and shift during the Global Financial Crisis I was still able to secure consistent commercial growth between 10% and 25% over the course of a decade. I am proud of the achievements and hard work that my team and I have put into the state. Upon my departure at the end of May 2016 , I have successfully led the migration of the business from an initial small factory unit and administration office back in 2006 into a serious, larger manufacturing, efficient converting and production line, office/admin, dispatch, and showroom facility, all of which I am very proud of. I initially joined Mirotone in a customer service role and was later promoted to a sales representative/ BDM position before being asked to manage the company's sales team servicing Victoria and Tasmania. I successfully managed a large and diverse portfolio of specialty accounts and distributors across Victoria and Tasmania, building and maintaining productive working relationships with key client representatives and stakeholders. Some of the key specialty lines were UV Cured wood Coatings, 3K Polyester Coatings, 2K Acid Catalysed coatings and 2K Polyurethane coatings, 2K Epoxy Floor Coatings for concrete surfaces . With many years which involved a lot of hands on support out in the field building the business demonstrating the key Mirotone / Polycure products, I secured more than $2 million in sales in multiple years and in doing so received the company's coveted ....National Salesman of the Year Award for the years between 1999 - 2005. In my departure , Victoria was turning over well over $8M with a high yield of 38% GP margin across all of the key product areas of the business . This amounted to a big 1/4 percentage of the companies annual turnover and player in the wood coatings market. Internally I functioned as a key member of the company's Quality Assurance Committee with responsibility for the implementation of ISO 9001 standards across all Mirotone / Polycure product offerings. I also developed and implemented improved sales techniques and strategies to increase the company's client portfolio and turnover by approximately 25% and built a reputation around my peers as a reliable coating supplier specialist.
