Steve has proven himself to be extremely knowledgeable, capable and reliable as an investment advisor. He provided me with a very thorough and detailed investment plan, after taking a great deal of time to understand my individual situation. Working with Steve has improved my portfolio and I am happy to recommend Steve as a trustworthy financial advisor.

I manage family investment portfolios and provide financial planning advice and service to 35 families. Financial planning is included in the cost to make sure that if ‘life happens’, your goals aren’t derailed in the process. I taught the course, Security Fundamentals (FMGT 4620) at the Burnaby campus of the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). The course is designed to convey the nature and function of capital markets, the important features of the instruments which trade in these markets and the factors which contribute to the valuation of these securities. For ten years I worked as part of the Stan Clark Financial Team at the Park Place office. I provided financial planning to all clients through the use of a Financial Planning Checklist that I created as well as providing more sophisticated advice and service on a range of issues for clients with portfolios over $2 million in investments. I also helped design and manage customized investment portfolios to a group of clients. I wrote monthly financial planning and investment articles for the newsletter. And I helped Stan working on the ten stock strategies, the system of selecting stocks amongst the strategies to manage risk as well as marketing materials to describe the strategies. I then joined Robert Wells at the Kerrisdale office under an agreement to buy his business. When that purchase agreement was terminated, I worked on my own as an investment advisor. Show less

Vancouver based Macdonald, Shymko & Company Ltd. (MSC) is a ”Fee Only” financial advisory firm, helping clients accumulate, preserve and manage their financial wealth since 1972. It is one of Canada's oldest fee-only financial planning and investment counsel firms. I worked under David Shymko where I learned the art of financial planning working with his clients that were high net worth families and senior executives. Over the four years, my contributions grew to where I was directly providing advice with respect to financial, investment and estate matters under the supervision of Mr. David S. Shymko with a small number of clients. Such advising activity was normally reserved for Partners of the firm. See: http://www.macdonaldshymko.com/ Show less
