      Production Supervisor at a busy food production factory in the Wigan area. Currently responsible for a team of 30+ staff in the Bulk Prep area across 2 shifts. My current duties are to coordinate and support the production teams in the Bulk Prep area and to ensure efficiency and consistency throughout the planned production schedule whilst encouraging and enforcing a very high standard of hygiene, food and area safety. My daily activities will include: • Ensure company standard operating procedures and safe systems of work are followed by all members of staff, contractors and visitors. • Ensure that all appropriate quality standards and CCP checks are being carried out and documented accurately and correctly. • Carry out daily GMP audits and communicate any issues to both staff and line leaders in a constructive and effective manner and relay any issues brought up by the technical department and managers. • Supervise effective changeovers and handovers using SMED techniques. • Highlight any critical issues that may affect production and to then analyse and put sufficient controls into place to ensure a minimum of downtime. • Complete daily data record including DWOR, SIC, Preactor and Forecasts and to put together a daily report for Cell Reviews with the department managers. • Analyse and improve performance throughout the area by reviewing productivity and processes and applying lean manufacturing techniques to reduce wastage of materials, production time and labour (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen). • Carry out weekly active monitoring reports regarding health & safety and to liaise between staff, managers and heads of departments any issues and ideas that have been raised and can be acted upon. • Carry out New Product Development Trials within the unit to check for issues that may occur with availability of materials, effects on current production schedules and overall product quality and form a detailed report to be viewed by our NPD teams.
