      What does the Risk Manager do? RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for protecting the Company’s assets, including the administration of the corporate insurance program and the administration of the employee benefit program. The Risk Manager assists Management to make informed choices, identify priorities and select the most appropriate action. SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE: - Risk analysis of all exposures inherent in the operation of the company, both foreign and domestic. - Plans and recommends suitable insurance coverages and makes arrangements for the assumption of risk for all segments of the corporation. - Responsible for the competitive marketing of the insurance program, including preparing bid specifications. Determines the professionalism of insurance companies and brokers to the end that all coverage is placed judiciously. Effective in reducing insurance premium costs. - Reviews all insurance policies and insurance contracts when issued. Negotiates policy corrections and enhancements with insurance brokers. - Safety and Loss Control – Responsible for implementing loss control programs and OSHA compliance. - Negotiates and finalizes all insurance losses and claims with adjusters, brokers, or carriers, and issues cash analysis crediting the proper branches, divisions, and subsidiaries. - Reviews workers compensation coverage – including classification of employees, accuracy of the experience modification, provides management with safety recommendations. - Reviews Internet exposures, including liability issues, e-commerce, e-mail guidelines, viruses, employee crime, fraud from external sources, web site or network damages, and other potential computer damage. - Provides Human Resource Department with administration support, including instruction on proper COBRA administration, employee benefit plan design, and employee communications.
