As Executive Vice President at U.S. Dynamics, I provide comprehensive operational leadership in the design and production of electromechanical and electronic assemblies sold in the aerospace, semiconductor, commercial, and military markets. Through a staff of up to nine direct reports, I champion all high-level engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain operational decisions encompassing the efforts of up to 200 employees across several divisions. I also actively participate on the Executive Committee with input into virtually every facet of the business. I provide in-the-trenches consultancy to the manufacturing floor of 50,000 sq feet, which has annually produced 4000 units of precision instruments (10 different models of gyroscopes) and RF/microwave assemblies with a retail value of $20M. This effort includes the spearheading of process improvements for increased product quality, efficiency, and manufacturing cost reductions using concepts of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and JIT manufacturing. It also includes the evaluation of new technology and equipment offerings, especially as it relates to in-house vs. outsourcing of distinct processes. Prioritizing manufacturing projects in the pipeline when senior management input is required is another component of what I do. I also preside over supply chain aspects, directing initiatives in the pursuit of new vendors to meet expectations for quality, delivery, and cost. Yet another facet of my work is to personally champion RFQ, RFP, and RFI responses for the company’s most prominent customers and/or for business USD is particularly and currently focused on. I author content and conduct presentations inclusive of budgets, proof of concepts, process delineations, and flowcharts.
