GREG THACKER
I have had the pleasure to work with Steven over the last four years. Steven is one of those persons who thinks’ outside the box and makes things happen. He would be an asset to any organization. I also had the opportunity to see him interact with his staff at Jasper County. His managerial skills were very good. He communicated effectively with his staff and had a good report with them.

Deputy Director
-
Feb 1999 - Dec 2010
In 1999 I was offered a job with Jasper County as a fire fighter. Within one year I was promoted to Deputy Director of Emergency Services. While in this position I negotiated contracts, coordinated and developed the new Enhanced 911 center, and created the hub for a countywide network. At that time we only had 2-3 servers and one building fully networked. In the last several years I coordinated and assisted in implementing a fully functional countywide enterprise network that included: 3 Cisco core switches, VOIP phone system, 6 standalone servers, 4 VM servers, left-hand SAN and many other enhancements. During this time we also coordinated and connected 3 County Government Emergency Services (Beaufort, Jasper, and Hampton), and Court systems.Responsibilities included directing and supervising the countywide Information Technology, 911 center, assisting with the management of Fire Rescue, Emergency Management, and GIS (mapping and 911 addressing).
