My job role included ensuring all electrical and audio & visual equipment was in good working order and repairing any equipment that had broke down or was faulty. I was also responsible, along with team members in my department, for the fabric of the building and ensuring that all rooms were in perfect condition for our guests. I would carry out regular PPM's to ensure this was the case. I was part of a four man team working shifts to provide maintenance cover for the hotel from 7am to 7pm. Another responsibility I had was to act as duty manager for the hotel. This involved all aspect of managing the hotel including dealing with guests requests and any emergencies that arose. I was also Chairman of the Blue Energy committee. In my role I chaired monthly meetings and overseen any charity or team member events that the hotel held. Show less

Unfortunately I was made redundant from HE Simm in October 2009 due to lack of work. I took this opportunity to work for my self as a self employed electrican. I worked across the north west of England carrying out re-wires and small electrical jobs on domestic properties.
