The training will allow me to further develop the Wrens Nest Community Garden while pursuing a new career in this exciting and interesting field. Working at the Great Big Greenhouse is an exciting challenge with a god deal of opportunity to earn advancement. This career move is part of my personal mission and calling to serve. Both the job and the training will allow me to advance my existing efforts to educate people on growing their own food, learn and demonstrate sustainable organic gardening practices, while fighting hunger and helping to overcome local food insecurity.       Still taking the odd freelance job and am open to flexible contract roles. This was never a BIG company, it started out and remained a micro business that was involved with all aspects of digital media. Websites, graphic design, app design, email marketing, digital ads, SEO, traditional media, online production of content, research and copy writing. Over the years I worked with a diverse list of clients to provide social media account set up, website management, social media content, brand management, email marketing and digital media services. The biggest value in my services offered was in providing high quality content on a consistent, sustained basis. The concept of this business was to provide affordably priced, professional media content and services to small businesses typically ignored by bigger media companies. I love graphic design and producing content. It's been a full time role and as evolved to a part time, occasional freelance type of work. The Philosophy of Educate, Entertain and Inform may not be embraced by corporate broadcast media, but it remains an intimate part of my individual beliefs. My personal service projects like the Wrens Nest Community Garden & Free Little Pantry continue to benefit from the professional skills and my understanding of audience development. Joining a small company to become an integral part of their growth plans fit right in with my personal interests and professional values in ways that those closest to me will understand. Unfortunately the serious home accident in August of 2022 created a situation where I could no longer perform boat building work. Initial and follow up surgeries and the long term healing outlook brought me to a point of needing to abandon this dream. and allow the company to hire someone else who could do the work in my place. This was a hard choice to make and I've been grateful for the understanding of the owner in supporting my decision to leave. Happily, I'm heading in a new direction that includes new ways to be of service to my community, further education in the world of horticulture and a deeper development of existing life long skills.       The app is out of production and no longer active. The research developed over 20+ years is being put into book form and a 400 page history book is forthcoming. The anticipated publishing date is July 2023. History based app content, social media content. The app served to keep me immersed day-to-day in app functionality, user content preferences and content creation. This was used as a tool to continue expanding my understanding of social media and online marketing through apps. with hands on experience. A Pirate's Book of Days provided me with a fun outlet for creativity and research and a limited opportunity for monetization of that content. When the world wide pandemic occurred, the global museum feature, the pirate sailing experiences, the pirate themed festivals and related re-enactor information was not relevant. The monetization of the app came from the development of those features. The profit & loss structure could not be supported after COVID hit the world wide marketplace this app served, and I shut the app down. It was a valuable experience and that developed an intensely focused research driven mentality that has paid off in so many other ways since then. Show less
