      Slough, United Kingdom I originally started off at Selco working on the shop floor as a shop floor assistant working on light side and heavy side. My role involved stacking shelves, removing stock from the goods in area and making sure they are clear for new deliveries to arrive. I was also Leyland Paint Mixed trained so I was able to mix paint for any customers after specific paints. I was also trained on how to use the saw mill to cut sheets of MDF and Plywood for customers. My role involved stacking shelves, removing stock from the goods in area and making sure they are clear for new deliveries to arrive. I was also Leyland Paint Mixed trained so I was able to mix paint for any customers after specific paints. I was also trained on how to use the saw mill to cut sheets of MDF and Plywood for customers. Whilst in this role I gained Counter balance and Reach Truck licenses which enabled me to work on unloading deliveries coming in and to help our staff who worked in the yard for customers who would like heavy stock brought out to their van. I also took a number of courses including manual handling and health and safety. I worked in this role for two years to gain product knowledge and to build customer service experience. In 2013 I then moved on to the trade Sales Desk. With the product knowledge and customer service skills I learned from the shop floor I was then able to help customers in what products we do offer and was able to assist them in their daily needs. This role involved answering phone calls to take deliveries from customers who had used us before, aiding customers in ordering specialist items which we would not sell in store, which would either be delivered to the site they were working for or into our store to be delivered out to them or to be collected. I would also have to call potential customers and find out what work they were doing to generate new business and arrange to go and visit their building sites to see what they would need from Selco as a company and what we could supply.
