I have worked with Steven in two roles while at The Seaside Center. On my first year as an intern, he was my direct boss. In this position, he was resolute, yet communicative and very easy to work with. In addition it became clear to me from the beginning that he was industrious, engaging, and truly a world class teacher. He has an ability to explain anything in an easily digestible and interesting way that keeps attention while truly explaining the intricate details of any given subject. His passion for marine biology and for teaching was very apparent, and his talents were as well. In addition, he is humble to the last, and someone you can rely to be on time, get the job done, and make the whole process not only easy, but also fun. The next year, he and I worked together as naturalists, and together we were a great team. He was great at co-management, and was very willing to share responsibility. His communication skills served him and I very well in this position. If we disagreed about something, we had a civilized discussion and came to an agreement about what to do next. It was a pleasure working both for him and with him and I have no doubt he will succeed in whatever role he chooses.
