      My role consisted of managing the backup and restore availability for multiple customers. I managed File level, VM and Database backups and restores using IBM Spectrum Protect. For any missed and failed backups I would analyse application logs and system logs to find fault codes and reasons for the failures. If it was something that required a change to be made to the costumers infrastructure (removing old VM snapshots or downtime windows being required) l'd then liaise with our customers IT team and provide them with the required steps for ensuring the backups completed successfully.       I joined SIRE as an apprentice straight from secondary school. It was a 2 year QA apprenticeship for the Microsoft MTA. My role at SIRE was first line support for hardware and software issues on Windows desktops. I also spent a large amount of my time at SIRE doing site visits for PC rollout's, which involved configuring new machines for our customers and ensuring Office 365, and any customer specific applications, were setup and the new PC would work as soon as it was on the customers network. This eventually grew into different hardware such as Servers, SAN's and Switches where I would travel to DC's around the UK and after performing firmware upgrades in the workshop, they would be racked, cabled and labeled. Primarily this was done alone but for larger projects it was done as a pair where I would sometimes lead the project and ensure a high standard was maintained. As I grew at SIRE I began learning about the Windows Server operating system and had setup a test lab where I configured my own environment and implemented DHCP,DNS AD and GPO features to emulate a business setup with server and client machines.
