      Joined the company from school and studied with an Open University sponsorship. My primary focus during this period was to graduate with an ICT degree while gaining as much on the job experience as possible. This involved working full time whilst continuing to study with the Open University in the evenings. Within this role I was a key part of a software development team helping to create and maintain software applications used widely in the broadcast industry, with key corporate clients including BBC World Service, MTV, Disney etc. Initially my involvement was limited to programs written in Delphi but, more latterly, I gained an increasing understanding in Java as applications moved to new platforms. Reporting directly to a member of the management team who acted as the contact point with the head of development, my main responsibilities included writing new features and functionality for various software packages. Additionally I was responsible for investigating software issues identified through customer feedback and internal testing. This involved writing new code to fix bugs identified with the products.
