Team Leader

Sep 2013 - Jun 2015
Managing a team of 20 administrators in the Traffic Support department, Criminal Justice. Working alongside and supporting the Summons Support department team and team leader where necessary. In this course of this role, I am the first point of contact for team members with any queries they have, ranging from advice on information disclosure to HR and health and safety issues. I am responsible for conducting regular one-to-one meetings and 6 monthly/annual reviews of team members and their general performance within the role. I also monitor annual leave and absence, conducting informal and formal meetings with team members when issues arise. I continually monitor absence for all members of the team and identify patterns and trends within them. I am also responsible for monitoring quality and quantity of work that is completed from the team through quality assurance checking and workload distribution. Since joining, I have amended and created performance sheets that allow me to monitor which part of the role a member of staff is not meeting the expected averages for, so these issues can be identified and resolved at the earliest opportunity. I have also been responsible for implementing changes of procedure and policy for my team. With the Government initiative to streamline the criminal justice system, I have been responsible for moving a section of the workload from the Summons Support team into the Traffic Support team. This process meant ensuring all training was completed for all team members, ensuring all departments and members of the management team were updated with the new procedure and being able to resolve any queries my team had regarding the change in procedure.
