Export Sales
-
1987 - 1996
Joined the applications laboratory to demonstrate and train people to use Mass Spectrometry, this involved some travel overseas to Europe and North America. Our company was involved with the development scientist and the software developers from a very early product stage and the technology were moving at a rapid pace. I later became part of the ‘Export sales team’ initially within Europe but then extending out to Asia and Oceania. The Export sales role meant managing the agent network in Asia, travelling extensively and promoting the products with clients and at conferences. Pricing strategy and budgets were set with the management in the UK organization and I helped to deliver this and grow the business, particularly in Japan.
