I recently attended Steve's virtual workshop 'Trust Communication Skills Training'. Steve was very engaging and the workshop taught me strategies to build trust with people in a short space of time. He gave us practical tips and techniques we can use in a variety of situations. He also taught us about micro-expressions and I have become more aware of how to read and interpret these in other people, as well as a greater self-awareness of my own body language. The workshop was interactive with lively discussion which helped to bring the best out of everyone involved. It is rare to attend a virtual workshop where you can get to know your fellow participants in a few short hours. My role at The Talk Shop is designed to ensure more clients are seen so waiting lists are reduced and the silent sufferers can get the treatment they deserve. By building relationships with psychologists, universities, psychology students and practice management, we are designing and building a streamlined system so help is delivered where it's needed... I'm part of a team who work with medical students, doctors, registrars, surgeons, nurses and other medical staff. We teach them the communication skills which enable them to win trust quickly. The sessions usually take place in small groups and concentrate on experiential and observational learning with small amounts of didactic teaching. Students are placed in scenarios where they role play communication skills to assist in building patient rapport clinical improvements. The scenarios often focus on breaking bad news, giving negative feedback, motivational conversations, difficult conversations, de-escalation and numerous communication micro-skills. Show less

As their nerves heightens, I begin introducing the show and them and before they know it they are talking on live radio which is accessible in over 180 countries. As they talk, their nerves reduce and they realise, "I'm just having a conversation with Steve."Yep... that's all we're doing.The interview is structured to produce content that may then be used in their marketing channels for weeks and months after their on-air appearance.
