Building and leading a new team to use information and intelligence to help delivery partners make informed risk based decisions on how and when to regulate food businesses. Building on previous experience in partnership working i am confident that we can add value in this space, and ensure food is safe and what it says it is.

Head of Outreach

Nov 2018 - Aug 2022
We continue to build on the foundations put in over the last few years in building the teams who are now further developing our engagement with business and partners to raise awareness of what fraud looks like in the food chain, so that by working together we continue to build and strengthen resilience to fraud and deal with it where we can. It's been rewarding and I relish the ongoing challenges in this dynamic area to serve and protect the public. If you're involved in the food business and want to know more please get in touch. creating the intelligence processes and building a successful and professional team of officers tasked to identify suspects and attendant risks in a nationally significant CSE investigation. Significant partnership work with South Yorkshire Police, Rotherham Metropolitan council and local health services to name but a few organisations. The successes of that work has started to show in the convictions of dangerous people and delivery of some form of justice to some of the most vulnerable people in our society. A genuine team effort working with other teams on Operation Stovewood. Show less

working with a great team to strategically and tactically deliver secure borders and customs at the third busiest airport in the UK. Pressurised and dynamic environment and some significant partnership working with the Manchester Airport Group. With AD colleague Phil and DD Emma - both great colleagues - we steered the team of 200 through some significant change and challenge, to which people responded in a fantastic way. Helped keep Britain's borders secure. working with a great team to strategically and tactically deliver secure borders and customs at the third busiest airport in the UK. Thirty years exemplary service, finishing as Detective Superintendent with responsibility for Intelligence and Covert policing and the Force RIPA Authorising officer. Accredited PIP3 Senior investigating officer on homicide, kidnap and extortion and other major crime. Along the way I served in every rank as a detective and worked with great people to protect the public and help them at the worst times that anyone could experience. Immensely proud to have left a legacy of officers with fire in the belly to take on some of the harder jobs that are out there. Show less
