      As a sworn Police Officer (patrol): Enforce the Maryland State and Prince George’s County laws while proactively policing in the community and protecting the citizens there in. As a First Responder, respond to calls for service of many types like disorderly individuals, domestic violence, home and business alarms, motor vehicle accidents, auto theft, vandalism, sexual assault, assault, fraud, drugs, robbery (personal and business), shootings, active shooter/ active threats and more. While on scene, take command of incident and coordinate with dispatchers to ensure the proper deployment and response of additional officers, supervisors, detectives, fire department personnel or other internal and external resources to proper locations for emergency response. After securing the scene, ensure that the listed situations are properly reported, establishing whether a crime was committed or not, and determine if making arrest is necessary. Testify in court for traffic, criminal and parole violation situations to ensure defendants/ violators are held accountable for crimes committed. During this appointment as a patrol officer, successfully tested and passed promotional examination to achieve Police Officer First Class and recognized as Officer of the Month for a foot pursuit that led to the arrest and closure of multiple cases. . Successfully completed 40 hours of Field Training Officer training and successfully trained new recruits. As Detective/ Investigating officer: Apply for and execute search warrants in order to obtain evidence. Compile all documentation in preparation for court. Coordinate and assist State and Federal agencies with information to track down, obtain charges, obtain warrants for arrest, and prosecute individuals wanted in connection to the crimes committed.
