      • Using my knowledge of Functional Safety Systems, I was tasked with re-writing the SIS proof test procedures ensuring evidence of compliance to IEC 61511 was in place. I also retrospectively wrote the missing Safety Requirement Specifications in conjunction with the HSSEQ team. • Developed various policies for the control system including Cyber Security to IEC 62443 • Part of a multidiscipline team carrying out HAZOP and LOPA assessments for all the SIFs in the Safety Instrumented System • Responsible for ensuring all Safety Instrumented Systems were tested in compliance to IEC 61511 in a timely manner • A member of the Alarm management team rationalizing alarms to the EEMUA 191 guidelines. • Worked with Emerson on a project worth upwards of £500,000 to develop an upgrade plan to take the DeltaV control system from version 10.3.1 using physical hardware to version 14.3 on a virtual platform. • Responsible for ensuring the DCS system was continuously available. Including performing backups, the installation of updates, hotfixes and antivirus definitions. • Control Systems Technician
      • Jul 2012 - Nov 2016

In this roll I was solely responsible for the development and maintenance of the DCS System under instruction from various departments. This included changes to logic, sequences, graphics, point building, backup regimes, procedures and hardware on the DCS and ESD systems and the documentation of such changes. I also developed the DCS Change procedure which allows all changes to the DCS system to be tracked and auditable. As a member of the Alarm Management Team I also helped in the rationalization of all DCS alarms to the EEMUA Guidelines. Show less

    • Instrument Technician
      • Mar 2007 - Jul 2012

As a valuable member of the engineering team my duties were to keep the plant running through preventative maintenance routines and quick reaction to any equipment failure on the DCS system or in the field. I was also responsible for the day to day running of the Honeywell TPS/Experion DCS system, including point building, graphics changes, control language sequence changes, interlock logic changes, ESD interconnection and backup regimes. During the yearly maintenance shutdown I supervised contractors distributing the workload and also overseeing all interlock and ESD trip testing. Show less
