As Editor, I create compelling content and commission it from a broad and skilled team of leading film writers for publication across three Flicks websites (flicks.co.nz, flicks.com.au, flicks.co.uk). Recently I devised, and began implementing, a Cinema Editorial Strategy to grow engagement and audience size beyond our current global readership of 1.9 million. Over my time as Editor, more Kiwis have engaged with Flicks than ever before - aided by my strong relationships with advertisers, studios, publicists and film festivals; regular media appearances; and a number of promotional partnerships and event-based initiatives. Using my knowledge of what both hardcore film fans and the general public want to watch, I help a wide range of New Zealanders find movies and shows to enjoy - whether this is the latest blockbuster or a jewel in a film festival programme that's screaming out for a recommendation. Working both independently or in partnership with advertisers, sponsors and stakeholders, I've developed and executed nationwide and localised promotional campaigns; produced video, audio, and written content; planned, executed, and hosted live script readings, Q&As and film screenings. I've also managed partnerships with key clients, devising ad campaigns, video, promotions and seeing these through from conception to execution. I’m incredibly proud of the team of writers I’ve built, and love identifying new talent, showcasing them alongside more established voices. Our current local writers include Rachel Ashby, Tim Batt, Amelia Berry, Dominic Corry, Adam Fresco, Liam Maguren, Awatea Mita, Guy Montgomery, James Nokise, Katie Parker, Amanda Jane Robinson, Daniel Rutledge, Laumata Lauano Volavola and Aaron Yap. I also represent Flicks on-air each week on Newstalk ZB and 95bFM, introduce screenings, and appear on other radio and TV outlets as needed. Show less
