I have had the pleasure of knowing Steve for almost 17 years. I worked WITH him, I prefer to say, in a Senior Level Management capacity with Westmont Hospitality Group. In most hotels there can be a disparity between departments and roles, however Steve worked incredibly well with all of our departments to ensure that we succeeded as a team. There was nothing he couldn't or wouldn't do to ensure guest satisfaction. Team morale was very important to him and he strived to create an environment of inclusion and where everyone's contribution mattered no matter how small. He chipped in whenever he needed to and was passionate about teaching and seeing others around him develop and be successful. He could find the humour in anything and often took stressful situations, difused them and created ease. I would work with him, for him or around him in a heartbeat, if the opportunity ever presented itself.

During that time I highly enjoyed learning from him and very much appreciated the fact that he always stood up for his team and was always present to assist and lead the team.
