Steve and I worked together for two years at a large multi-state healthcare provider with several service lines. I really valued Steve’s deep healthcare industry expertise, in particular his knowledge of the revenue cycle. He also took the initiative to implement better controls and reporting on cash, on bank covenants, and accelerated our monthly close by almost two weeks. Steve was also a good mentor and coach to many of the staff on my team.

Steve has several traits that makes him a great asset to an organization. He is passionately committed to helping an organization succeed. He does his research to understand the environment. He values benchmarking and comparison data. He holds himself and others accountable for performance at the highest level. He asks many questions and is comfortable challenging the status quo. He is a strong project leader - tackling several complex projects during my time working with him. As a clinician, I learned a tremendous amount from him. I learned how to view data, how identify good measures and how to utilize data as a way to move clinical initiatives forward. He is not afraid to ask difficult questions. Although medicine and finance have not always worked effectively together, I believe Steve worked very hard to listen to our needs but also present fair, fiscal realities in such a way that clinicians could understand the relevance.
