Managing a team of transport, capacity and night planners situated in 4 offices within the South of England and Wales, to facilitate weekly supply of 70K tonne of asphalt and 180K tonne of aggregate a week including recycled asphalt planning’s across a network of 100 units alongside external requirements to our major highway projects and domestic markets. A 24 hour value adding function with many facets that include forecasting, planning, customer service, stakeholder liaison, stock control, complaint investigations, rate negotiation, risk management, client relationship management and continuous improvement. I managed and developed our replenishment team from clearance house to a regional transport planning function responsible for up to 90 internal bulk artic tippers, significantly improving truck utilisation by 37% to average 78%. I instilled a new stock control process that improved communication and cost controls within the wider business. Throughout I resolved haulier issues and concerns breaking down historical barriers driving greater collaboration. I have lead planning, cross functional communications, monitoring and supply for our largest and most critical projects within the South region. As area implementation lead for ‘Logistics Excellence’ I was instrumental in the creation, testing and embedding of our new bespoke transport planning tool to improve service delivery.
