The facilities include five leisure centres including swimming and dry sports and extensive fitness facilities, a regionally significant Athletics Arena, indoor bowls complex and an 18 hole pitch and putt golf course. With combined annual visits well in excess of 2 million per annum and a turnover of more than £3.5 million the contract is complex.   I was part of the Senior Management Team of this newly formed leisure trust. My main responsibilities included successfully bidding for new contracts in Dorset and Devon, the introduction of new activities into the 12 centres and the management of a hugely successful sports development and outdoor activities team. I led the trust in a successful bid to operate two newly built Building School for the Future (BSF) projects in Somerset and negotiated the legal aspects with the Local Education Partnership.
