Community retail shop manager

May 2020 - Present
Never thought I would love retail shop work as much as I do after working in factories and wholesale over 40 years.. I was made redundant early 2020 and found the A World and given the opportunity as a volunteer in one of our local stores.. thanks to my hard work and commitment I was asked to cover many other stores which I really enjoyed and was then offered my own store local to me.. I really love my new career in retail and have the full backing from the directors and area manager.. the A World CiC are working hard to fund our local autistic community in many areas with lots of activities and funded holiday breaks for the families.. With the help from all our fantastic local customers/community with there generous donations we can build a better place together..check us out on Facebook for all of our funded outings and adventures.. donations great fully accepted in all stores and we also offer free collections from most area’s… we have stores from Salford..Swinton..Eccles.. Bury.. Middleton..Ashton .. Burnley.. keighley .. and the Merseyside area.. with two new stores opening soon.. Show less

Etc.. with all DGN notes enclosed..Role also included the management of several goods out bay/administration staff and 13 drivers, updating regularly with new transport legislation and driver cpc checks. Hired and managed agency drivers daily when needed with full checks on all licence requirements and daily vehicle defect checks, with daily/weekly in-house digital tachograph checks for any infringements. Full hands on manger loading/unloading vehicles and helping all departments when necessary to help the business needs and also treating it as my own.. I was very unfortunate to be offered redundancy when I thought I had built a very commanding and effective/efficient transport department for the company in my 19 years as logistics manager which I gained from my experience as a driver and warehouse operative and vast knowledge of customer location’s and quality contacts..
