Started life as many of us did, Airman Basic still wet behind the ears in so many ways. Worked as a technician, aka. Crew Chief on the mighty C-5. Went TDY all over the world, deployed for four wars, and experienced many cultures. I discovered I could not speak Syrian when trying to ask a Syrian General to move his troops away from our airplanes during a TDY in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm I. As a flying Crew Chief, I flew everywhere and vowed to always take care of and keep my crews safe and flying.I was a lead Tech, a flying Crew Chief, a Team Leader within my squadron, and helped run maintenance on the flightline at Travis AFB during my last two years.These positions required a good working knowledge of jet propulsion, hydraulics, pnuedraulics, electrical, auto pilot systems, radios, aerodynamics, structural, fasteners, sealants, lubricants, tools of every type, landing gear systems, flight controls, rigging, and so many other skills.Required to work in teams, lead teams, and work solo.
