At Burrana, I have introduced a large amount of operational and organizational change within the R&D Engineering Team. I have established operating procedures for managing all R&D Projects and led the creation of a new Development Team. I successfully managed Burrana’s first line-fit development program with Airbus and installed a new collaboration framework with Airbus Engineering. The project included negotiating amendments to Airbus’s standards, creating a new NPI process at Burrana, and managing challenging financial constraints during the pandemic. The In-Seat Power System is scheduled to enter into service in Q1 2023. Thanks to this project the Company is now one of only three in-seat power suppliers to hold Airbus approval. • Provided Agile-Style Leadership and Governance • Established the Project Development Framework, realigning functional departments as necessary • Guided the creation of Business Cases in line with the Company’s Strategic Objectives and Technical Roadmap. • Liaised with Airbus and Boeing, negotiating Resources and Program Schedules. • Created the program reporting strategy and KPIs. • High-Level coordination of the Development Teams throughout all development phases. While at Immersive Robotics I have realigned the Company’s IP and allowed them to access a new business vertical. I have taken a very holistic role which included gathering customer’s requirements, creating a strategy roadmap and managing the engineering team. This required causing a significant cultural shift company-wide to effectively gain the necessary focus and guide them to achieve the needs of the Business. • Directly managing the Codec Development Team and SQA Team, organizing workflows, establishing roles, goals and responsibilities for all developers. • Acting as a strong advocate for Agile, I have been coaching Scrum and quickly gained credibility with the Business by delivering on-time and on-budget. • Overhauled the engineering department, hired new talent, and reorganized around Agile development processes. • Managed a major product re-architecture project. • Laid the foundations for Continuous Integration within FW, Software and Testing, and led the creation of the CI automated testing platform. • Liaised with customers, negotiating product features and project deliverables. • Provided support with contract preparation. • Mentored staff and facilitated the introduction of self-driven SMART development goals. I have been leading the Industrial Design, Acoustic Research, Hardware Design and Compliance for two releases of Biamp Devio conferencing systems and worked on several R&D projects. I was Lead Hardware Engineer and later Team Leader of the UC team. Devio DTM-1 and DCM-1 were the Company’s first Beam-Forming microphones using rigid-flex PCB and MEMS transducers. Devio received numerous awards and quickly established a strong new market segment for the company. Biamp Devio was honored “Best of Show, AV Technology” at InfoComm 2016, “Most Innovative Audio Processing”, Systems Contractor News 2016 and “Most Innovated Product 2016”, Sound and Video Contractor Magazine. • Lead Hardware Designer and Architect for the UC product (Biamp Devio): • Directing the Industrial Design and coordinated with external contractors for PCB design and testing. • Directed the acoustic design and acoustic research. Led the construction of custom test equipment and anechoic chamber; • Responsible for EMC compliance, HDMI compliance and USB compliance. • Led the introduction of rigid-flex PCB technology to create complex 3D geometries and coordinated with the manufacturing team during the NPI phase. • Created the Company’s reference design for a proprietary audio interface over Cat.5 • Conducting research and feasibility studies for new products development. Large format beam forming microphone, DSP processing on x86, AVB. • Experience providing full life cycle product support and ECOs. • Provided mentoring to other team hardware engineers: review of schematics, PCBs, design validation tests. I managed several underground electrical and street lighting works for large residential developments. This required liaising with developers, authorities, electrical and civil contractors. I worked for clients such as Satterley, Stockland, Kenfrost and Cairns Regional Council. I also took part in the design of earthing, stand-alone diesel generators and electrical distribution for the mining industry. http://www.spaconsulting.com.au I managed several underground electrical and street lighting works for large residential developments. I developed a class D “audiophile grade” amplifier for low volume manufacturing. The Sutra 1.3 amplifier received great reviews from the audiophile industry. The product line also included a 192Khz/24bit >130dB SNR DAC and a fully analog Phono preamplifier with custom RIIA filter. http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/sutra/sutra.html - Research and “proof of concept” prototyping, - Schematic and PBC design. - Supply chain development.
