Steve is one of those unique product leaders that can firmly stand with one leg in the ‘user domain’ and another in the ‘technical domain.’ He can run an enjoyable meeting with clients to dissect their use cases, but also collaborate with engineers on the most technical of subjects. It always impressed me that Steve would not just hear/speak the buzzwords of the AI domain, but also spend evenings coding & blogging about those same subjects–no easy feat when you’re talking about knowledge graphs, ontological learning, data fabrics, etc. With Steve on my team I knew I always had someone I could trust. He was ready & present whenever there was a surprise task that came our way. He was a vocal team member too; quick to contribute and positively push everyone (myself included) to advance their thinking and perform better. I’d be excited to be on the same team with him again and I’m jealous of whoever gets to work with him next!

Steve is a self-starter who leads naturally through his desire to solve problems and to provide others with the help and resources they need to build and commercialize amazing products. During our time working together, Steve initiated and championed a new cross-department process for developing against customer use cases while improving our data lifecycle management. He stepped in to manage a new domain while ensuring those around him were educated about the value and hurdles of the revised architecture. Steve has an impressive understanding of business strategy, software development, data science, and big data management. I highly recommend Steve as a product leader and manger who will empower teams to succeed and drive business value.
