From simple accountancy to insurance and research. The days go by very quickly and I enjoy ever minute of it. The number of possibilities are endless. We oversea 53 fire stations and a number of ambulance posts. While being here I am attending different workshops and meetings. Along with day visits to different fire stations and ambulance posts to get a better understanding of what they do.       My work involves a lot of calculations, precise work, reading technical drawings and texts.       There is a two month training period. This is where I learned the basics of the job. -sales -administration -organization -client relations -purchasing -inventory management -forecasting There are more skills that I gained during this time. The biggest lesson and skill that I learned was team work. Soon after my training I was placed in Ede alone to run a store as a store manager with the title as an assistant. I quickly understood my role and fulfilled it properly to the point that I scored a 54% on my first audit within one month of starting and two weeks after I had a re-audit and scored an 85%. Due keep in mind that I still had to fix the mistakes from my previous colleague. Due to my work I got nominated twice in a row ad employee of the month. From there I felt that I was not being challenged enough so I requested to be placed at Hilversum where I currently work. This is the largest store in Europe. My tasks stayed the same some complications arose however they are still simple to solve. Working at Shurgard has thought me a lot , I feel as thou I have learned most of what they can offer and I would like to have a more challenging role in the future. Show less

      The first week I started in the sample department and that had the task of looking for the right coded tile to allocate to the proper client via a program thus finally packing and placing the package at the proper location. Soon after I was transferred to the returns department. Here I had a diverse list of tasks in administration, organizing and self discipline in time management and prioritization.
