Steve and I were colleagues for many years in the Metropolitan Police Service. We worked very closely in 2012 delivering bespoke protection and managing protection teams at all levels of government, foreign heads of state and foreign and domestic diplomats. A particularly challenging year with London Olympics and the same year saw we planned and delivered at the tactical level, the celebrations of Her Majesty the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations. Managing a variety of armed protection officers delivering overt and discreet protection packages, Steve excelled in maintaining high levels of enthusiasm and delivering quality product, in a challenging environment with strong and demanding customer relationships. The teams worked extremely long hours for him, in challenging conditions. Steve delivered an excellent service to the London Games and was clearly highly regarded by his teams, his "lead from the front" attitude inspire those in his team to go the extra mile for him when needed. A sad loss to "The Met" I had no doubt he would excel in his next challenges.

Having seen Steve's leadership and decision-making in high-risk, dynamic and stressful environments, I would have no hesitation in recommending him to any project, operation or initiative that needs exceptional communication skills. resilience, drive and a fundamental ability to make change happen.
