  During this 20 month engagement PwC Remchannel was acquired by Old Mutual South Africa. My role remained as Cloud Architect and I was tasked with several milestones as part of handing over the Remchannel Solution to Old Mutual's internal development team. Disaster Recovery This was a requirement by Old Mutual so that in the event of a disaster, the entire Remchannel System, including data could be restored. I designed an implemented a Disaster Recovery Plan with successfully executed simulations. The successful targets included a point-in-time recovery with data restored to within 1H of the disaster and a recovery time objective of 6H. Multi-factor Authentication This was a requirement for added application security. I implemented Google Cloud Identity Platform as the MFA solution at the time as OTP was the only requirement. However, my primary technology selection would have been Ping Identity. Documentation & Handover As part of the project handover to the Old Mutual internal development team I developed a series of Powerpoint presentations. I presented the entire solution architecture over approximately 10 workshops. All documentation was concluded in the Azure DevOps Wiki and Miro boards.   During this 8 year engagement Remchannel grew significantly and was acquired by PricewaterhouseCoopers. The business was renamed to PwC Remchannel. My role transitioned from Senior Solutions Architect to Cloud Architect when I brought the Google Cloud Platform into the technology stack in order to establish modern cloud computing practices. Processes and Systems PwC Remchannel needed to establish a complete Software Development Life Cycle. I established all of the processes and systems that were required to meet this requirement. Application Development Framework I created this framework based on common patterns and practices so that the development team could expedite application development and keep the end users experience consistent. UX/UI Overhaul I initiated this project with an external UX/UI Design company so that a new and consistent brand could be established for Remchannel applications. My first major objective included working with my development team to migrate all of the PwC Remchannel applications from Classic ASP over to modern .NET using the Application Development Framework that was established. Google Cloud Platform My second major objective included updating the architecture of the solution so that all systems could essentially run in the Cloud.   During this 24 month project with Remchannel I worked with an exceptional team of people as a Senior Solutions Architect. Remchannel Month End Processing This was a specialised web application and data processing system used by Remchannel consultants to prepare employee remuneration data for reporting at the end of each calendar month. The requirement for this system was primarily performance as Remchannel's existing system was no longer able to cope with the quantity of data being ingested. After thorough analysis of the existing data formats, ingestion and processing pipeline, I redesigned the system to be more efficient and established a new technology stack for Remchannel.   During this 18 month project with SITA I restructured and implemented new processes and systems as a Senior Solutions Architect. Integrated Case Management System (ICMS) This was an integrated smart client application that all levels of South African courts and the Department of Justice (DOC) would use to manage cases. It was designed to be pluggable and with a consistent user interface, so that other departments could build and add modules to the application by development against a common application development framework.   During this 18 month project with Websoft Maven of the Innovation Group I worked with a new development team as a Solutions Architect. Comparative Insurance Quotes This was a web application that provided prospective clients with comparative quotes for household and vehicle insurance. The application included a pluggable interface that any insurer could use to integrate with the system in order to provide their quotes. This system was essentially the forerunner to www.hippo.co.za.
