Lead a team of 7 bargaining unit and staff augmentation foresters overseeing vegetation management programs for transmission and distribution planned work and capital projects. Utilizing project management process to control cost, quality and schedule; provided leadership to internal employees and contractors; reviewed project proposals and administered contracts. Major accomplishments included:• Development of a 3 year $100M fully unitized program including the implementation of KPI’s tying safety, efficiency, and company satisfaction performance to compensation.• Developing a partnership with the Lehigh Valley Zoo providing tree debris which is fed to giraffes thereby disposing of the trimmings in a socially responsible manner.• Negotiating, procuring, and managing system wide staff augmentation contracts. • Graduating PPL’s MPP (Managing People and Processes) Leadership Development Program.As a leader in the organization I reviewed, developed, and authored system wide policies and procedures including: FAC-003 TVMP, T&D specifications; and company herbicide use policy. As a project manager it was my responsibility to coordinate and facilitate the successful delivery of large complex electric transmission and substation capital projects. I was accountable for all project management activities throughout the project life cycle from project development thru project close out. I led and influenced teams of cross-functional management and contractor teams including stakeholders from Asset Planning, Asset Management, Project Controls, Environmental, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Community Affairs, Legal Counsel, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction. Projects included: • Development of a $171M EPC reliability program which included the construction of a 500/230/69kV substation, the reconstruction of 73 miles of 69kV transmission, and interconnection with a foreign owned 500kV transmission circuit.• Monitoring several strategic land purchases of 40 to 50 acre parcels for future substations.• Facilitating the development and implementation of Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling software for substation design; improving engineering efficiency, cost, human performance and safety.

Regional Forester

As a utility forester it is my responsibility to lead by example utilizing Human Performance Tools to foster a positive safety culture. My primary role is to manage and execute the work associated with the vegetation management program; which includes tree removals, tree pruning, right of way reclamation, and herbicide applications identified and prioritized through LiDAR, field inspections, and routine cycle maintenance to maintain or improve system reliability and performance for our internal and external customers as well as fostering a constructive culture while leading, motivating, and developing a decentralized regional vegetation team including internal bargaining unit personnel and over 300 vegetation management contractors.Additional duties and responsibilities include:- Serving as subject matter expert providing direct testimony before regulatory bodies.- Evaluating regulatory requirements and industry best practices to create and update company compliance documents including NERC FAC-003-3 and system wide line clearance specifications.- Delivering shareholder value by improving reliability, reducing O&M expenditures, accurately forecasting expenditures and efficiently managing a multimillion dollar regional vegetation maintenance budget.- Providing technical guidance and leadership for major capital improvements including new substations and the Susquehanna-Roseland 500kV and Northeast Pocono 230kV transmission lines.

The primary mission of an Environmental Science Officer & Engineering Officers (ESEO) is to protect the Soldiers, Civilians and the other individuals we support with proactive public health and surveillance by keeping commanders advised of environmental threats which may compromise mission success or the safety of service members. As a utility forester it was my responsibility to oversee vegetation management activities on distribution and transmission systems in Northern and Central New Jersey. My duties included auditing contract tree crews, managing annual funding,interacting with customers to resolve inquires, complaints and work refusals, managing storm restoration activities, and analyzing circuit reliability data. Parks Conservation Corps Team Leader

Summer positions supervising teams of NYC high school students completing hands on environmental stewardship projects and leading weekly environmental science education field trips. Projects I managed during the summers of 2001 and 2002 included the reconstruction of an ADA compliant nature trail in Blue Heron Park on Staten Island and a comprehensive turtle census of Central Parks Turtle Pond.
