He has been and continues as an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry serving in several member and leadership roles on various committees including Sedation and Anesthesia as well as Section Chief of the Editorial Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He was honored and received the "2007 Pediatric Dentist of the Year" award from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Foundation. Dr. Wilson has published over 115 peer-reviewed articles in professional journals focusing primarily on behavioral guidance, physiological monitoring, and pharmacological management of the pediatric dental patient. He has authored the only textbook on the oral sedation of pediatric dental patients, "Oral Sedation for Dental Procedures in Children". He has also been a consultant to the FDA on issues related to sedation of dental patients. Dr. Wilson has spoken at several state, national, and international meetings. Dr. Wilson is a member of the Board of Directors of BCPSC and serves on other committees including the Governing Committee of BCPSC. Dr. Wilson's responsibilities include peer review of providers, compliance, development of policies and procedures, community and professional relations, research, and recruitment and retention.
