Assist a dedicated team of professionals focused on improving oil and gas production in Wyoming through applied geological/engineering research and making oral and written presentations to communicate findings to the public. The job requires experience in multiple disciplines, including: geology, petroleum engineering, geophysics, leasing, EOR/IOR methodologies, oil field operations, and economics. Much of the research involves reservoir characterization on a wide variety of conventional and unconventional reservoirs and determining which methods provide the best chances to optimize economical recovery of the hydrocarbons there. In addition to evaluating the effectiveness of existing recovery methods, new and innovative recovery methods are reviewed and evaluated with findings passed on to the public.

Illinois Basin Geology Manager

Managed a team of geologists conducting exploration and development efforts in carbonates and clastics within the Illinois Basin. Generated drillable prospects and provided maps, cross sections, drilling prognoses, and write-ups for vertical and horizontal drilling projects. Performed detailed reservoir characterization studies and was also instrumental in site-selection, design, development, initiation, and oversight of EOR projects (tertiary chemical floods (ASP (Alkaline-Surfactant-Polymer) and CDG) in heterogeneous reservoirs within Lawrence Field, Illinois. Presented concepts, recommendations, and provided critical updates to upper management. Gave oral presentations of original research and project results at regional and national meetings.

Founded and ran my own oil company that specialized in consulting, geoscientific studies, prospect generation, reservoir characterization, and oil well operations. Work included raising capital, generating new exploration plays and prospects, drilling exploration and development wells, secondary and tertiary flood enhancement, and production. Secured multi-million dollar funding, managed a small team of employees, owned and operated 24 oil wells in Illinois. Presented technical discussions at regional and international meetings.

Conducted original research and published findings pertaining to concepts, plays, and methods that could be used to improve exploration and production in the Illinois Basin. Presented numerous lectures at local, regional, and international geologic conferences. Generated maps, cross sections, and provided guidance and advice to the oil industry in the Illinois Basin. Was a delegate to the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. Authored numerous publications pertaining to various aspects of oil and gas exploration in the Illinois Basin.
