      Stephen Scott has over 35 years experience in the process industries with particular expertise in gasification, carbon capture, cryogenic engineering, partial oxidation and syngas technologies with a strong emphasis on safety. Stephen has been the technical lead on a wide variety of gasification projects for power, hydrogen, biofuels and chemicals, with most of these projects incorporating pre-combustion carbon capture. In addition, Stephen has worked on many post-combustion carbon capture projects (PCC) involving conventional as well as developmental PCC technologies. Stephen's clients include Agrium Inc., BP, Capital Power, ChevronTexaco, Duke Energy, E.ON, EPRI, GE, IEA, Keppel Energy, Luscar Ltd, Nova Scotia Power, Nuon BV, Peabody Coal, POSCO, Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, Saudi Aramco, Sempra Energy, Shell, Statoil, Suncor Inc., TransAlta Corp, TransCanada, and a number of confidential Asian, European and North American clients. The projects are based worldwide. At BOC, Stephen’s primary task was to design Air Separation Plants, but was also involved in addressing supply chain management issues with particular reference to compressors and rotating equipment. On the safety side, he was involved in assessment of materials of construction following the incident at Bintulu, Malaysia in 1996 and the safety of refuelling and operation of BOC’s new fleet of LNG powered trucks. At BG, Stephen worked on a number of large projects, including the Substitute Natural Gas (SNG) Program and the Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) Program as well as leading projects, on the techno-economic assessment of the utilization and transportation of remote natural gas. Stephen has chaired a large number of HAZOP’s. The industries covered include pharmaceuticals, LNG, petrochemicals and research laboratories.
