My current position involves providing Help Desk support for Mayo Clinic Health Systems. This includes all facets of the enterprise from password resets to Windows 7/10, MacOS, iOS support as well as the newly implemented Epic electronic medical record system. I support thousands of users with setting up remote access (vpn) on their devices as well as operating system troubleshooting/streamlining. I analyze and resolve issues both over the phone and with remote connections. Efficient support triage is also a huge component of supporting the hundreds of systems enterprise-wide. I also assist other members of my team to resolve issues they may not be familiar with throughout the enterprise. Show less

My position at G-E-T involved providing helpdesk support for the entire school district. I assisted all staff, faculty and students with their computer needs both remotely and onsite. I administered and maintained classroom technologies including projectors, Smart and Promethean interactive whiteboards. I also assisted in the support of telecommunication devices such as telephone systems and distance learning tools, including PolyCom devices. I supported Google voice and video, which was often used in the district for video conferencing among departments. I also helped administer a cross-platform network including Active Directory management. I managed over 250 computers, providing regular maintenance of hardware and software as well as maintenance for OS X servers along with some virtualized Windows 2008 servers. I would also build and deploy images of computer systems on a large scale. Show less

    • Owner/Computer Specialist
      • Jan 2002 - Aug 2010

I opened WCCS in response to a growing need for quality computer assistance, available in a timely manner, in this rural part of West Central Minnesota. I am very proud to have developed a successful business that offered quality computer sales and service to the area. I feel that my business substantially helped Grant County fully enter the computer age. Besides general consultation, I also assisted clients with hardware upgrades, networking, computer repair, proper OS and software application installation and configuration, virus eradication and troubleshooting. I built and sold over 200 computer desktop and notebook systems. I installed Microsoft 2000 and 2003 terminal servers for the grain industry, specifically the grain elevators that load the railroad cars with the harvest. I managed more than 10 business networks, the largest having 30 workstations, several of which were insurance agencies where I acted as their Citrix server support liaison. Show less

Fergus Falls Community College’s theatre program offered a variety of theatre arts classes and produced one play a semester. The Waage Theatre also housed a strong music department. I was responsible for the design, implementation, and production of every technical aspect of the theater and musical productions, including stage design and construction, sound and lights, and overseeing the counterweight rigging system. This included extensive light board programming of multiple channels, hundreds of “cues” and special effects, as well as installing, cabling and configuring all lighting and sound equipment. Drafting blueprints for construction details was done primarily with vellum and pencil and CAD became available the last year of my employment at FFCC. I also taught a stagecraft class each semester.
